Overview

HireReady ("we", "our", "us") is a Chrome extension that uses AI to optimize resumes for job postings. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

Email address: Used to identify your account, track your free usage count, and manage your subscription.
Resume text: The resume content you paste into the extension. This is sent to our AI processing server for optimization and is not stored after processing.
Job description text: Job descriptions you paste or extract from web pages. This is sent to our AI server for analysis and is not stored after processing.
Website content: When you click "Grab from Open Tab," the extension extracts text from the currently open job posting page. This only happens when you explicitly click the button.

How We Use Your Information

Your email is used to manage your account, track usage, and process subscription payments through Stripe.
Resume and job description text is sent to our secure server, processed by AI (Anthropic Claude), and the optimized result is returned to you. We do not store your resume or job description text after processing.
Website content extraction only occurs on your explicit action and the extracted text is used solely for resume optimization.

Payment Processing

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. All payment data is handled securely by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy.

Data Storage

Email and usage data: Stored securely on our servers (Redis database hosted on Vercel) to manage your account.
Resume and job description content: Not stored. Processed in real-time and discarded after the optimized resume is returned to you.
Local storage: Your email is saved locally in your browser using localStorage so you don't have to re-enter it each session. You can clear this by logging out or clearing your browser data.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Anthropic (Claude AI): Processes your resume and job description to generate optimized resumes. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
Stripe: Handles subscription payments. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Vercel: Hosts our backend servers. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Upstash (Redis): Stores account data. See Upstash's privacy policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. Your data is only shared with the third-party services listed above as necessary to provide the HireReady service.

Data Retention

Account data (email, usage count, subscription status) is retained as long as your account is active. Resume and job description content is not retained — it is processed and immediately discarded. You can request deletion of your account data by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Log out and clear your local data at any time

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure API keys, and trusted third-party infrastructure to protect your data.

Children's Privacy

HireReady is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
